The Africa Knowledge Management Hub is developed by the United Nations Development System in Africa and acting as a one-stop-shop for data, information, actions, and knowledge resources relevant to 2030 global development agenda, the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and other continental development agendas . The Hub harnesses information and resources from credible sources and brings together researchers and policy expertise across sectors, to easily identify and facilitate a response to emerging national needs to ultimately accelerate the implementation of the 2030 Agenda. By ensuring that no one is left behind, the objective is to build together the Africa we want.
The United Nations Regional Collaborative Platforms (RCP) unite all UN entities working on sustainable development to ensure full coordination of UN regional assets in addressing key challenges that transcend country borders and effectively pool expertise at the service of the specific needs of each region. The RCPs are chaired by the Deputy Secretary-General and co-chaired by two vice-chairs from the Regional Economic Commissions and the United Nations Development Programme.

The review of knowledge management in the United Nations system is based on the conviction that knowledge is a valuable core asset of the United Nations system organizations and their best comparative advantage. The effective utilization of knowledge both in the organizations and system-wide is critical for achieving the goals of the system.
